GreenFest 2025

Some items of note were: -
A dress created by one of our younger, very talented members, made from soft plastics. This created a lot of attention as it was modelled around GreenFest, bringing people to our stand. The playing of the guitar also attracted visitors to the stand.
A game for kids and adults alike, sorting soft, hard and tricky plastics into the correct coloured bin, won them a bouncy ball from Illawarra Shoalhaven Joint Organisation (ISJO). Special thanks to ISJO for loaning us there event marquee for the day and delivering it.
A sculpture by another one of our members made for plastics collected from local beaches.
A sample with signage supplied by WhollyShrink® on the day, of a household tool for compressing soft plastics in the kitchen, so less space is taken while storing soft plastics for recycling until the next soft plastics drop off day or collection occurs.
Samples supplied by Close the Loop of examples soft plastics being converted into pellets before it is recycled into TonerPlas®, as well as other items. TonerPlas® is an innovative asphalt additive creating higher performance, longer lasting roads.
Samples of the highly visible orange bags being used in soft plastic yellow kerbside recycling bin pick up trials, being conducted by the Australian Food and Grocery Council (AFGC) through the National Plastics Recycling Scheme (NPRS).
